Body Found Inside Vehicle In The Pee Dee River

The accident happened Tuesday morning along Oakland Road in Dillon County.

One person was pronounced dead after a crash in which a vehicle landed in the Pee Dee River.

The accident happened Tuesday morning along Oakland Road in Dillon County. The driver was traveling north on the roadway when it veered off to the right and struck a guardrail before hitting the water. A body was found inside the car but the identity of the deceased victim was not publicly revealed.

This marks the second car found in a body of water in the Pee Dee in the past 48 hours. The first incident unfolded when a vehicle was discovered on Sunday afternoon. It was submerged in the river off of Gully Road in the Nichols area of Marion County. No one was found inside that vehicle. Both incidents remain under investigation.
