Georgetown Mayor To Host Forum Regarding Utility Costs
The forum will be held Tuesday at 5:30pm at the Winyah Auditorium.
Georgetown residents are invited to participate in an open forum.
Mayor Jay Doyle will host the forum to discuss an increase in utility costs. Leaders will discuss plans, review the city’s budget, and hear ideas from residents on ways to help lower utility rates.
Doyle said the utilities are a huge issue and they’re going to discuss the city’s initiative and financial position, whether to raise rates, keep them the same, or if there’s ways to lower them.
Local organizations have been stepping in to provide utility vouchers to assist some families in covering their bills. However, the non-profit leaders say more support is needed.
The forum will be held Tuesday at 5:30pm at the Winyah Auditorium.
