Donte' Locklear has been tapped to lead the department days after the town's last certified officer resigned.

The town of Latta has named a new police chief.

Donte’ Locklear has been tapped to lead the department days after the town’s last certified officer resigned.

Locklear has experience across several Pee Dee law enforcement agencies. Over his eight-year career, locklear has held leadership roles with the McColl and Lake City police departments.

Locklear graduated from Robeson Community College’s law enforcement training program and holds specialized credentials in criminal investigations, DUI enforcement, narcotics enforcement, crisis intervention and traffic safety.
