Investigation Underway After Man Found Deceased In Vehicle

41-year-old John Hopkins appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound.

An investigation is underway after a man was found deceased in a vehicle.

41-year-old John Hopkins was found dead in the car around 10am on Saturday near the S.C. state line in Scotland County.

A land owner in Gibson witnessed the car was parked on the backside of his property off Railroad Street. Police were called, prompting an investigation as Hopkins appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound.

Authorities are currently working to learn more and anyone with information is asked to contact Scotland County officials.
