Violations Led To Several Pee Dee Residential Care Facilities’ Closure

Issues included structural failures, strong urine and smoke odors, live roaches, gnats, mildew stains and more.

South Carolina has revoked several Pee Dee residential care facility licenses.

The Department of Public Health issued administrative orders to revoke the licenses issued to Cunningham-Waters Construction Company.

The move means the company can no longer operate several residential care facilities.

Patriot Living locations in Florence, Hartsville, Sumter and Taylors are being shut down.

Inspections and investigations were conducted on the facilities, which resulted in violations.

Issues included structural failures, strong urine and smoke odors, live roaches, gnats, mildew stains and more.

The company failed to fix the issues resulting in losing their license.

Over 140 residents are now being relocated and Cunningham-Waters is permanently closed.
