Portion Of Busy Freeway In Los Angeles Reopens After Large Fire

Investigators revealed the fire was started by an act of arson. The suspect involved has not been located at this time and details remain limited as an investigation is still underway.

A portion of Interstate 10 in downtown Los Angeles was reopened.

Earlier this month, a massive fire caused damage to the structure resulting in its shut down which caused drivers in the area major headaches as the Interstate plays a key role in traffic flow.

The shuttered portion of the freeway, which typically sees more than 300,000 daily drivers, is back open for vehicle traffic, sooner than many were expecting.

The vital transportation corridor was closed as crews worked to clear the site as well as assess and repair damage following the fire, which started at a nearby storage yard and spread under an elevated portion of the freeway.
