One Woman Arrested After Police Pursuit Spanned Across Two Counties

A caller reported the woman was acting strange and possibly videotaping homes as she attempted to wave down vehicles.

A woman has been arrested after reports of suspicious activity led to a police pursuit that spanned across two counties.

Around 3:30p.m. on Monday, Marion County Police were alerted of a woman riding a bike in the area of Willie Hodge and Harrington Road. A caller reported the woman was acting strange and possibly videotaping homes as she attempted to wave down vehicles.

Before deputies arrived, the caller informed dispatchers that the woman had stolen a utility truck and was attempting to flee the area. Officers were able to locate the truck, however, the woman failed to stop which prompted a 40-minute police pursuit into Florence County.

The vehicle was eventually disabled and the woman was taken into custody.

No injuries were reported during this incident.

The woman’s identity has not been released to the public at this time.
