Novak Djokovic Makes History After Winning His 24th Major Championship
The 36-year-old from Serbia has now won titles at 24 of the 72 majors he has competed in.
On Sunday, Novak Djokovic won the U.S. Men’s Open and claimed a historic 24th major championship.
Djokovic defeated Daniil Medvedev 6-3, 7-6, 6-3, to claim his victory.
Djokovic was already at the top of the men’s slam list and this win has now moved one major singles title ahead of Serena Williams to become the first player to win 24 in the Open Era.
The tennis player has now won titles at 24 of the 72 majors he has competed in.
The 36-year-old from Serbia said he never though this would be a reality but it means the world to him.
Djokovic was not the only winner this weekend.. Coco Gauff won the U.S. Women’s Open title on Saturday.
