Two Eye Drop Products Recalled Due To Possible Bacteria Contamination
People who have been using the drops with signs or symptoms of an eye infection should talk to their health care professional or otherwise seek medical care immediately.
A recall has been placed on two separate brands of eye drops.
The FDA warned people to stop using Dr. Berne’s MSM Drops 5% Solution and LightEyez MSM Eye Drops. The agency found bacterial contamination in some of the tested products.
FDA officials say using contaminated eye drops could result in minor to serious vision-threatening infections which could potentially become life-threatening.
Both products also contain MSM which is an unapproved drug illegally marketed in the U.S..
So far, no issues have been reported, but people are urged to stop using either of the products immediately.
