Man Arrested In Connection To A Fatal Shooting Incident

An investigation led to the arrest of 78-year-old Sturgeon Locklear who was detained and charged with second-degree murder.

A man has been arrested and charged in a fatal shooting incident.

On Sunday, Robeson County Deputies reported to the 500 block of Old Landing Road in Maxton in reference to a person shot around 2p.m.. Upon arrival, 55-year-old Phillip Locklear was found dead at the scene.

An investigation led to the arrest of 78-year-old Sturgeon Locklear who was detained and charged with second-degree murder. He is being held at the Robeson County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.
