Possible Rezoning Plans For Wild Water & Wheels Property Proceed

The council passed the first reading of an ordinance unanimously.

Plans are moving forward for rezoning of the Wild Water and Wheels property in Surfside.

During a town council meeting held Tuesday night, the council passed the first reading of an ordinance unanimously.

The ordinance rezones the land from amusement to highway commercial which means businesses such as a gas station, a convenience store, and possibly a car wash could be placed on the property.

There are concerns regarding traffic flow, but a study is set to be conducted to confirm that the new amenities will be a good fit for the area.
