There have been 23 fires, 688 incidents reported of overheating and $168,000 in property damage connected to the dehumidifiers.
A recall has been placed on over 1 million dehumidifiers due to the risk of fire.
The recall impacts 42 models of dehumidifiers with the brand names ‘Kenmore, GE, SoleusAir, Norpole and Seabreeze’. all were manufactured between January of 2011 and February of 2014.
Approximately 1,560,000 units are included in the recall.
