Disney Set To Raise Prices On Its Ad-Free Disney+ Plan
The price hikes come amid Disney's efforts to slash $5.5 billion in costs this year.
Subscribers of two streaming services could soon see a rise in price for their monthly subscription.
On Wednesday, Disney announced it would raise prices for its Disney+ services for the second time this year as the company works to narrow its direct to consumer losses and reach profit.
Starting October 12th, the company will raise the price of its ad-free plans for Disney+ and Hulu by over 20%. The Disney+ ad-free plan will rise from $10.99 to $13.99. Hulu’s ad free plan will increase by $3 to $17.99 a month.
The price hikes come amid Disney’s efforts to slash $5.5 billion in costs this year.
In addition, starting on September 6th, subscribers will have access to a new ad-free bundled subscription featuring Disney+ and Hulu services for $19.99 a month.
