Does Your Teen Suffer from ‘Social Jet-Lag’?
"Social jet lag" occurs when your body's biological clock and sleep patterns are out of sync.
A new study published in the “journal of affective disorders…” says “social jet leg” could be causing psychological problems in teens. “Social jet lag” occurs when your body’s biological clock and sleep patterns are out of sync. The study looked at more than four-thousand high school students. Researchers found the more time the teens spent on devices such as smartphones or tablets before bed, the more time was taken away from their body’s natural sleep needs. The disruption led to higher levels of emotional problems.
