Stairway Collapsed As Family Of Four Walked On The Structure
A second story stairway column broke and was hanging down to the first floor of the Sea Cabin Condos apartment building.
A North Carolina family of four was injured after a stairway collapsed in North Myrtle Beach.
The North Myrtle Beach Police Department was dispatched in regards to a collapsed stairwell shortly after 10p.m. on Friday. Upon arrival, officers noticed a second story stairway column broke and was hanging down to the first floor of the Sea Cabin Condos apartment building.
The Shill family was walking on the stairs at the time of its collapse. The mother struck her head and complained of arm and shoulder pain. The father and the two children ages two and four appeared to be fine.
They were all transported to the Grand Strand Hospital and their current condition has not been revealed.
The incident is now under investigation by Horry County Fire Rescue.
