Hunter Biden Pleads Not Guilty As Plea Deal Is On Hold
The hearing concluded with the president's son pleading not guilty at this time and the judge requesting both sides to file additional briefs further explaining the plea deal's legal structuring.
A plea deal between Hunter Biden and the Justice Department was taken off the table on Wednesday.
Earlier, Hunter and federal prosecutors agreed on a revised and limited plea deal for him to plea guilty to two tax related charges to resolve a felony gun charge. Hunter failed to pay between $1.1 million and $1.5 million in taxes before the legal deadlines and agreed to plead guilty to those charges with prosecutors agreeing to recommend a sentence of probation.
A federal judge expressed she was not ready to accept a revised agreement between both parties and put the deal on hold.
