Hunter Biden To Plead Guilty To Two Tax Misdemeanors
Hunter's attorney shared that the deal will put an end to the DOJ's long-running probe into the president's son.
On Tuesday, President Biden’s son, Hunter Biden, will plead guilty to two tax misdemeanors after striking a deal with federal prosecutors.
The deal is in regards to a felony gun charge which will be dismissed if Hunter abides by certain conditions for a set period of time.
As part of a plea agreement, the Justice Department is expected to recommend probation for the tax crimes. A judge will get the final say on Hunter’s sentence.
In both 2017 and 2018, he had taxable income in excess of $1.5 million, but failed to pay income tax for either year.
Hunter owes the IRS over $100 thousand in taxes for each year and the maximum possible sentence is up to 12 months in prison.
His attorney shared that the deal will put an end to the DOJ’s long-running probe into the president’s son.
