Netflix’s recent crackdown on password sharing appears to have been a progressive move for the company.

On Wednesday, the streaming giant announced it added around six million paid subscribers over three months, bringing its total to over 238 million globally.

In addition, the company said it has now launched paid sharing in an attempt to get users to stop sharing accounts with others for free.

Netflix said the sign-ups for that plan have already exceeded cancellations now that people are no longer allowed to use a Netflix account if it is not a part of the main house-hold linked to the subscription for free.
