Lake City Football Coach Remains Hospitalized After Bus Crash

A prayer vigil was held Sunday evening for Baker and for the players, as well as the rest of the team, coaches, staff, and parents.

An update has been provided in reference to the bus crash involving a semi-truck that occurred last week.

Lake City High School Head Football Coach, Ronnie Baker and four of his players were returning home from a football camp at South Carolina State University when the semi-truck collided with their bus.

The accident happened around 1p.m. on Thursday on U.S. 301 near Bonner Avenue.

The driver of the truck was not harmed, but the four athletes were taken to nearby hospitals to be treated for minor injuries. Coach Baker however, was transported to Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia with multiple broken bones. He remains in the hospital as of Monday.
