Do you still have leftover buns lying around from the 4th? Buns are the most wasted product from get togethers but, we’re here to help you stretch your dollars and clear your counter space by dinner tonight! Start with breakfast. Whip up some french toast using that almost stale bread! Make your recipe as you normally would. Just split the hot dog buns in half, then cut the halves into two to three pieces lengthwise and continue as you normally would with your recipe. We recommend for 3 hot dog buns, use about 4 eggs, 1/4 cup of milk and don’t forget the cinnamon!
To use the remainder of your buns…make a batch of homemade croutons. It’s pretty simple and a great use of your air fryer. These crunchy salad toppers are often sold in pricey pre-made bags at grocery stores, but making them at home is a
simple. Cut your buns into about 20 cubes per roll. Coat the cubes with olive oil and add spices to taste. (Garlic powder, salt, pepper, italian seasoning). Bake on 375 for 7 minutes in air fryer. Shake halfway through. In the oven bake for 15 minutes.
