Lumberton Police Are Investigating A Fatal Shooting Incident

44-year-old Derrick Hester was the male victim and he died from his injuries. The condition of the woman is unknown at this time.

The Lumberton Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred Wednesday evening.

Around 6:20p.m., officers reported to the 1300 block of North Walnut Street. Upon arrival they found a man and a woman shot inside a vehicle that had run off the road and into a yard on North Walnut Street.

Both victims were transported to UNC Health Southeastern for treatment.
