HCFR Investigating Cause Of An ‘Apparent Explosion’

On Wednesday, Horry County Fire Rescue was called to a structure fire on South Kings Highway.
An ‘apparent explosion’ occurred at the 5000 block of the highway and resulted in the destruction of a camper and left damage to two other campers.
One person was transported to a hospital with injuries sustained in the flames, but the extent of those injuries was not publicly revealed.
Fire officials are now working to determine the cause of the fire and an investigation is still ongoing.
