North Carolina Lawmakers Advanced Two Laws Regarding Transgender Rights

On Tuesday in North Carolina, transgender rights were the center of attention as the GOP-controlled General Assembly advanced two legislations.

The House Health Committee advanced a bill banning state facilities from treating trans minors with hormones and gender-affirming surgeries.

Hours later the Senate voted 31 to 17 to ban trans girls from playing on school sports teams that align with their gender identity.
