Socastee Swing Bridge Reopened After Repairs

The bridge and road routes have been reopened to both vehicular and marine traffic.

The Socastee Swing Bridge has officially been reopened to traffic.

The bridge was shut down on June 12th after a fatal car crash caused major damage to the bridge including part of its support structure.

The closure resulted in detours as crews worked on repairs.

Now, the bridge and road routes have been reopened to both vehicular and marine traffic.

SCDOT released a statement that said, “We appreciate the patience from our community members while this critical work was completed.”
