The group of gunmen fled the scene in a vehicle that was marked and later pulled over.
Two people have officially been charged for the incident that took place near the CCMF festival grounds and left one officer injured.
On Saturday, two Myrtle Beach officers and two SLED agents responded to reports of a gun sighting. The authorities traveled in one vehicle and encountered gunfire when they arrived.
One officer was struck with a bullet and suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The group of gunmen fled the scene in a vehicle that was marked and later pulled over. Marijuana was discovered in the vehicle and six occupants were arrested on drug charges including three juveniles.
18-year-old Chance Benson and 17-year-old London Staggs were later charged with attempted murder, firing into an occupied vehicle, and use of a weapon during a violent crime.
Benson was one of the six occupants arrested and was involved in the shooting. It is unclear if Staggs was one of the juveniles originally arrested.
More arrests are expected to come and an investigation is still on-going.
