Horry County Police Investigating Shooting Incident That Injured One Officer

Horry County Police are investigating a shooting that occurred near the area of the Carolina Country Music Festival on Saturday.
Officers responded to reports of a person with a gun in the area of 14th Avenue North and Chester Street.
Two Myrtle Beach Police Officers and two SLED officials responded.
As the officers attempted to approach the situation, a group of suspects began shooting at the authority’s vehicle.
One officer, who was not identified, suffered a minor, non-life threatening injury after being hit with a bullet.
No officers fired their weapons during the incident.
The suspects fled the scene and an investigation has been opened.
