Air Quality Expected to Improve Over the Weekend

Roughly 50-million people across the midwest and east coast are still under air quality alerts.

Much of the eastern half of the U.S. should be able to breathe easier this weekend. But, air quality concerns caused by hundreds of canadian wildfires are still hazardous in some areas today. Among the cities dealing with potentially dangerous pollutants are New York, Washington DC and Philadelphia. The smoke clouds have forced postponements for professional sporting events and numerous flights to be grounded due to unfavorable visibility. Roughly 50-million people across the midwest and east coast are still under air quality alerts. However, the National Weather Service says things should start to get more clear over the weekend.
