Father And Son Killed In A Shooting After A Graduation Ceremony

Two people were shot and killed and five others were left injured. The two killed were 18-year-old graduate, Shawn Jackson, and his step dad, 36-year-old Renzo Smith.

On Tuesday, a high school graduation day turned deadly after a gunman opened fire as hundreds of people stood outside after the ceremony in Richmond, Virginia.

Two people were shot and killed and five others were left injured. The two killed were 18-year-old graduate, Shawn Jackson, and his step dad, 36-year-old Renzo Smith.

A 14-year-old boy and four men ranging ages 31 to 58 suffered gunshot wounds in which four of those had non-life threatening injuries. A 9-year-old girl was also injured as she was struck by a vehicle while trying to escape the gunfire, she is said to be okay at this time.

Police initially arrested two people but later discovered that one suspect was not involved. The other, a 19-year-old male, remains detained and officials think he may have known one of the victims and he had four handguns on him when arrested.

The suspect faces two counts of second degree murder.
