District Judge Amit Mehta oversaw the case and shared that we cannot have a group of citizens who instigate a revolution based off of their disapproval of election results.
On Thursday, the founder and leader of the Oath Keepers was sentenced to 18 years in prison.
Stewart Rhodes has been sentenced for leading a far-reaching plot to keep Former President Donald Trump in power after he lost the 2020 election.
District Judge Amit Mehta oversaw the case and shared that we cannot have a group of citizens who instigate a revolution based off of their disapproval of election results.
Mehta explained that Rhodes has expressed no remorse and continues to be a threat.
Rhodes was convicted of seditious conspiracy in November in a historic trial that was a test of the Justice Department’s ability to hold those accountable who participated in the storming of the Capitol on January 6th.
