Nikki Haley Calls Federal Abortion Ban ‘Unrealistic’
There's been an on-going debate in the nation since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June of last year.
Yesterday, GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley shared that it would not be honest for a republican to promise a federal abortion ban. The former Ambassador to the United Nations and Governor of South Carolina said quote “In order to do a national standard, you’d have to have a majority of the house, 60 senate votes, and a president. So, the idea that a republican president could ban all abortions is not being honest with the American people.”end quote. Haley also added that she seeks to find national consensus to agree on getting rid of late-term abortions. She concluded by stating a federal level ban is not realistic. Her comments come as she seeks to become the president of the United States and abortion has been an on-going debate in the nation since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June of last year.
