Heavy Rain Causes Flash Flooding and Stranded Motorists in St. Louis

Four inches of rain fell yesterday alone.

Yesterday, rescue crews in St. Louis responded to reports of drivers trapped in vehicles amid flash flood warnings. As a storm battered the area with heavy rain, over 480 thousand people in St. Louis and parts of Illinois were under a flash flood warning over the weekend. Four inches of rain fell yesterday alone. The STL Fire Department responded to at least 15 different calls involving vehicles stranded and motorists trapped in the flood waters. No injuries have been reported at this time as all warnings expired late last night and roads have started to re-open as rain has tapered off.
