Video Footage Revealed Moment When Wanted Man Was Arrested

The suspect had been at large for nearly a year since a murder was conducted.

The Florence County Sheriff’s Office released video footage revealing the chase that led to the arrest of a murder suspect that was at large for nearly a year.

Jason McRae was wanted for a deadly shooting that occurred in May of last year. He was arrested on Wednesday at Magnolia Mall in Florence following a vehicle pursuit.

Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on I-95 when McRae failed to stop. Deputies then pursued the fleeing vehicle in a chase that ended at the mall where he fled on foot into the establishment.

McRae can be seen in the footage pulling out a gun, but due to civilians being in close proximity, the deputy did not attempt to shoot the suspect.

Instead, the quick thinking officer tased McRae and they were able to secure his weapon and arrest him.

McRae had been at large since the murder and has now been taken to the Florence County Sheriff’s Office for further detainment.
