Mike Pence Testifies Before Federal Grand Jury
The former vice president spent more than five hours with the jury
Former Vice President Mike Pence testified yesterday to the federal grand jury investigating the aftermath of the 2020 election. His testimony happened just hours after Donald Trump lost an appeal to prevent it. This marks the first time in modern history a vice president has been compelled to testify about the president he served with. While under oath, Pence was set to recount his conversations with Trump leading up to the insurrection at the the capitol on January 6th. A federal judge previously ruled Pence could also be compelled to recount conversations when Trump pressured him to block the 2020 election results. The former vice president spent more than five hours with the jury.
