Suspect Arrested For Leaking Key U.S. Military Documents
An investigation revealed the Massachusetts Air National Guard posted the classified documents to a social media platform popular for video gamers.
The FBI has arrested the person responsible for leaking critical U.S. military documents.
21-year-old, Jack Teixeira was arrested in Massachusetts and has been arraigned in federal court, facing two charges of unauthorized retention and transmission of national defense information as well as unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents or material.
An investigation revealed the Massachusetts Air National Guard posted the classified documents to a social media platform popular for video gamers.
The documents include significant details regarding the state of the war in Ukraine and the challenges Kyiv and Moscow face as the war appears stuck in a stalemate.
The documents also exposed the U.S. for spying on their allies and blurred the lines of trust within their diplomatic ties.
The judge has schedule a detention hearing for Wednesday and will remain in custody until then.
