If you haven’t visited Florence, put that on your list to do! The city recently received a National award for Main Street downtown. Florence is this year’s Great American Main Street.” It’s an award for excellence voted on by industry professionals and local leaders in the fields of economic development and historic preservation. Florence has worked hard to revitalize it’s downtown officially beginning in 2011. It has taken lots of dedication, volunteers, partnership and as generated over 100 units of new housing, $300 million in investment, and over 90 new businesses…and they aren’t done yet! So, plan a Friday or Saturday night dinner there or Sunday brunch!
