School Security Guard Arrested For Hoax ‘Bomb Threat’

The security guard will no longer be allowed to affiliate with Horry County schools.

A security guard has been arrested for allegedly presenting a hoax threat to a high school

20-year-old, Coty Kennedy, was an unarmed newly assigned security officer at Myrtle Beach High School.

Kennedy confessed to a written note threatening to ‘blow up the school’. He was arrested on March 24th after an investigation and has been charged with a bomb threat, conspiring to threat, as well as threatening to damage or destroy a building.

Information regarding when the threat was made or the reasoning behind it, has not been publicly revealed.

Kennedy was released on a $5 thousand bond.

The security guard will no longer be allowed to affiliate with Horry County schools.
