Market Common Jewelry Store Robber Denied Bond

On February 17th, 33-year-old, Michael Perez, went into Jacob the Jeweler on Hackler Street in the Market Common and aimed a fire-arm at an employee inside.

On Monday, a bond hearing was held for the suspect who was shot while conducting a robbery at a jewelry store.

The employee defended himself and a gunfight broke out between the two.

Perez was hurt in the gunfire exchange and was later detained by Myrtle Beach Police.

The suspect has a criminal history including probation violations, a fugitive from justice, as well as robbery and terroristic threat charges out of Texas.

Perez was denied bond on the robbery charge and issued a $305 thousand bond on other charges he faces including possession of a weapon during a violent crime and first-degree assault and battery.
