It Only Takes 5 Seconds to Determine Whether You Like a Song or Not

Our opinions don't change depending on whether we listen to a snippet or the whole song.

A new study from New York University says it takes us less than five seconds to decide if we like a son and our opinions don’t change depending on whether we listen to a snippet or the whole song. But, in general, we like the song more if we hear the whole thing before the excerpt. The study says, “the fact that a small excerpt is enough to tell us if we like it or hate it, suggests that we respond more to the general vibe that a song brings to us rather than its musical notes.”
