The trial for Alex Murdaugh has entered its fourth week. Murdaugh is facing charges for the murder of his wife and son who were shot and killed on the family’s hunting property in June of 2021. Jurors have heard from many witnesses who have delivered a wide range of testimonies on the crime scene itself and the financial schemes Murdaugh is also facing 100 separate charges for. Prosecutors believe the motive for Murdaugh killing Maggie and Paul was to gain sympathy and cause a distraction from the financial crimes he allegedly committed. The defense has argued that there was no evidence linking the murders to financial misdeeds. Prosecutors are expected to wrap up their arguments this week.
