U.S. To Send First Responder Teams To Turkey
The search continues for survivors under the wreckage as the death toll has risen to over 17 thousand and tens of thousands injured.
The Department of Defense has responded to a request from Turkey.
The United States military has sent two civilian urban search and rescue teams to Turkey. The first responder teams are going to help the most impacted areas in earthquake relief efforts.
The first teams have already arrived and a team from Europe is expected to arrive on Thursday.
Over 150 search and rescue personnel will be assisting Turkey in recovery efforts after the region experienced the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that left behind catastrophic damage.
