This is the second time during this school year that a student has been suspended for a year after the discovery of a loaded gun on the school campus.
The first incident occurred in September and resulted in the suspension for a 15-year-old.
The school district’s Communications Officer, Jessica Horne, said they take incidents like this very seriously and are prepared to take any disciplinary action necessary to ensure the safety of all students as that is their top priority.
It was also mentioned that random searches of the St. Pauls High School are conducted at least once a week and metal detectors are set up at events hosted by the school.
