Five cars from the train derailed in a fiery accident on Friday. The flames were releasing toxic fumes into the air and shooting fatal shrapnel as far as a mile away.

One rail car has remained the main focus of concern because its malfunctioning safety valves prevented the car from releasing the vinyl chloride inside.

As officials work on the controlled release, the evacuation zone surrounding the scene expanded to two states.
