McCarthy And Biden Met To Discuss The U.S. Debt Limit

House Speaker, Kevin McCarthy suggested that he and President Biden could find common ground when it comes to U.S. spending

The president and house speaker held a meeting at the White House Wednesday to discuss how to address the Nation’s debt limit.

Kevin McCarthy suggested that he and President Biden could find common ground when it comes to U.S. spending but said there were “no agreements” and “no promises” made.

This was the first time the two have held a meeting since McCarthy was elected as house speaker last month.

The meeting was held as the Nation’s debt ceiling was reached and the Treasury had to take to extreme measures to prevent the U.S. from possible default.

McCarthy shared that they discussed a lot of different ideas and they plan to work toward an agreement.
