House Fire Took The Lives Of Two People

One person was upstairs and made it out but the two who were downstairs were not able to escape the flames.

The identities have been released of the two people who died in a house fire Sunday morning.

Murrells Inlet-Garden City Fire District crews responded to the 500 block of Woodland Drive around 3a.m.. A blaze took over a home with flames on all four sides of the structure.

One person was upstairs and made it out but the two who were downstairs were not able to escape the flames.

23-year-old, Adam Scott, and 21-year-old, Bridget McIver both died from injuries sustained in the house fire.

The fire was put under control nearly an hour after crews showed up but they were on the scene for several hours.

Midway Fire Rescue, Surfside Beach Fire Department, and Horry County Fire Rescue crews helped in containing the situation.

It is unclear what caused the fire at this time.
