New Surfside Beach Parking Registration Option Replaces Decal

Officials would only have to scan a license plate to determine whether it is registered for parking or not.

Surfside Beach announced plans to start using a different way to recognize parking registration.

Currently the city uses parking decals to confirm registered vehicles in certain parking spaces. The plans state that when residents register a vehicle for parking, they will no longer receive a decal.

The license plate number of the vehicle will be registered to the system in replacement of the decal.

Officials would only have to scan a license plate to determine whether it is registered for parking or not.

Golf carts and low-speed vehicles will still receive a physical decal.

Registration for the new decal policy begins on February 6th.
