National Archives Request Former Presidents And VP’s To Check Personal Files
Former officials from the last six presidential administrations are asked to check their files to ensure there are no classified documents or other presidential records withheld in their personal material.
The National Archives are requesting for former presidents and vice presidents to double check their personal records.
The request follows the discovery of classified documents from homes of former President Donald Trump, former Vice President Mike Pence, and President Biden.
The Archives sent a letter formally asking representatives of former presidents and vice presidents from the last six presidential administrations to check their files to ensure there are no classified documents or other presidential records withheld in their personal material.
Documents such as these are legally supposed to be turned over to the Archives after an official’s time in office ends.
