Governor McMaster Delivered His 2023 State Of The State Address
This was the governor's sixth address after he was sworn in earlier this month for the start of his second full term in office.
Wednesday night, Governor Henry McMaster delivered his 2023 State of the State address.
Throughout the speech McMaster calls for the state to pass a shield law to allow lethal injections to resume in South Carolina. He also proposed gubernatorial selection of state judges with consent from the senate, which could inspire the confidence of state residents and encourage attorneys to seek public service.
This was the governor’s sixth address after he was sworn in earlier this month for the start of his second full term in office.
After his second term is up, McMaster will represent the longest-serving governor in South Carolina’s history.
