Tornado Outbreaks Violently Rotated Across The South

At least 35 preliminary tornado reports were recorded as of Thursday evening. The storm swept across Alabama, Georgia, and Kentucky.

At least 35 preliminary tornado reports were recorded as of Thursday evening. The storm swept across Alabama, Georgia, and Kentucky.

As the tornadoes violently rotated through the states, power-lines were damaged, tree limbs were severed, and debris filled the streets. Six deaths were reported in Central Alabama and a 5-year-old child was killed in Butts County, Georgia after a tree fell on top of a car.

The storms left behind widespread destruction. As of Friday morning, nearly 45 thousand homes and businesses were still in the dark across Georgia and Alabama.

Search and rescue as well as clean-up operations are taking place Friday.
