Stolen Vehicle Report Resulted In High-Speed Chase

Deputies were in the middle of filing the stolen vehicle report when they said vehicle drove by.

An attempt to recover a vehicle reported stolen, turned into a high-speed police chase.

Deputies were in the middle of filing the stolen vehicle report when they said vehicle drove by.

Officers attempted to pull the vehicle over at Lucas and Irby in Florence. The driver refused to stop the car and kept driving which resulted in two police cars pursuing the suspect.

The chase ended when the suspect appeared to lose control at the northbound ramp for I-95 at 502 and hit a bridge pillar.

The suspect was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash caused the northbound interchange to close for nearly an hour.

No other people were involved or injured in this incident.

The suspect now faces charges for failing to stop for a blue light as well as stealing a vehicle. Their identity will be publicly released once charged.
