Walk To Honor Fallen Myrtle Beach Officer

The fallen officer was shot and killed 20 years ago while attempting to address a murder suspect in a Dunkin Donuts on North Kings Highway.

A walk is being held to honor a fallen Myrtle Beach Police Officer.

The public is being asked to join officers in a 2.63-mile walk to honor PFC Joe McGarry.

The fallen officer was shot and killed 20 years ago while attempting to address a murder suspect in a Dunkin Donuts on North Kings Highway.

McGarry was only 28 years old and served with the Myrtle Beach Police Department for four years.

The walk will begin at 4p.m. Thursday at the Warren S. Gall Police Training Annex in Market Common.
